Go for the Gold

We know that all that glitters, isn’t gold, but a little gold paint goes a long way to glam up a piece of furniture or decor.

I’ve been searching for the perfect small accent table for the most comfy seat in our house–the spot right in front of the TV that everyone (including the animals) seems to fight over. Loving a mix of styles, I didn’t want something too rustic, but something a bit more industrial yet with a touch of  glam. A quick trip to Target (and by quick I mean hours ogling all the goodies in their new and improved home decor section) and I found a plethora of tables, many in gold, and most out of my budget for a table. Then I happened upon this one, Room Essentials™ Mixed Material Accent Table in black. I knew right away it’d be easy to transform the metal black legs in gold.

Usually, I’d use spray paint, but when browsing Target’s aisles (instead of leaving after I’d already found what I came for–come on, you know I’m not alone here), I decided to try the Devine Paint by Valspar‘s metallic paint in Devine Karat.

Here is the table before:

And after!

I have to say, I LOVED the paint. And while it took more time to apply than spray painting, a few coats later and my table’s legs were perfectly gilded. The next time you’re in Target, and you know you will be, give the paint a try. Oh, and if you’re in love with that clock like I am, buy it here at Wayfair.

Happy Friday!

  1. I love this! A small dose of gold is always good! And what a revelation with tagr gold paint. I love the ease of spray paint, but every time I sprat paint something I say this is the last time i’m spray painting ! I have a love hate relationship with it. Glad to know there’s an alternative to gold spray paint!
