With Christmas only weeks away, the struggle is real to get the house decorated. I enjoy mixing items I’ve purchased with hand-crafted projects to decorate with, and this is another simple way to add a farmhouse, rustic touch to your holiday decor.
I started off with a plain wood piece from Home Depot that I planned to stain after adding cut-out letters made from the Cricut.
I used sticky vinyl paper to cut out the letters and adhere them to the wood.
I tried really hard to ensure the stickers adhered properly before the staining process….
Using CeCe Caldwell’s stain and finish, I brushed over the wood and vinyl to create a two-toned wood effect for the sign.
Sadly, there was still some bleeding when I peeled off the lettering, so I outlined the letters with my gold pen.
I cut out a few snowflakes then glued them to the board for accents.
I played around with where I wanted my new farmhouse sign to live…
…And ended up loving it in the dining room for all to be wished a Merry Christmas!
